Burmese cats were bred selectively to be therapy cats in the 1930s. Descended from Wong Mau, who was used by a psychiatrist in San Francisco to start the breed, this breed has become popular for their loving, sweet personalities. More like dogs than cats, they will greet you at the door when you come home, talk to you in their inquisitive voice, play until they get out of breath and have to flop on the floor, rub on you, trip you when your hands are full by weaving between your legs, and do everything they can to make sure you know they’re there for you. In your darkest times, they will sit and purr on you or distract you with their antics by playing with anything they can get their paws on.
While they have been known to fetch and walk on a leash, it really depends on the personality of your kitty and whether they are in the mood for it that day… they are still cats after all.
Therapy Cats
It is absolutely critical that you feel comfortable with the whole process here. We have nothing to hide, and we encourage you to set up time to visit in-person or have a video call where you can ask any questions you may have, see the environment where your kitten is raised, and meet the mamas and kittens.

Waitlist
While we wish it was as simple as simply picking out the color and gender of your new furry friend, our mamas don’t typically tell us when they’ll go into heat, how many kittens they will have, or what the color and gender mix of the litter will be, nor will we attempt to meet demand by producing more cats than we can place into loving homes.
It could take several months for a specific kitten of a certain color and gender become available. Once we determine that one of our kittens will be in good hands with your family, you will be the first to get an email/text about new kittens as they become available. You will be able to put down a deposit for them once they turn 8 weeks old. Everyone on the waitlist will get the same notification, so once you have made your decision, it is up to you to claim your kitten by putting down a deposit.
